About Sarawak

1. Kuching City Tour
Kuching is a diverse city with well-preserved historic and modern architecture, including religious sites and landmarks like the Golden Bridge and cat statues. Visitors can shop for local crafts, including woodcarvings, “pua kumbu” cloth, and Sarawak pottery, or try unique gifts like edible bird’s nest and pepper spice in cat-shaped figurines. Don’t miss out on trying the traditional Sarawak Kek Lapis cake, available in various flavors and designs.
2. Borneo Cultures Museum
The Borneo Cultures Museum showcases Sarawak’s rich heritage and traditional crafts. With five floors, it includes a variety of galleries, including a Children’s Gallery, Arts and Crafts Gallery, and the largest gallery with immersive exhibits on the theme of ‘In Harmony with Nature.’ The museum also features an educational gallery on Sarawak’s history, as well as a gallery of masterpieces and beautiful artefacts.
3. Sarawak Cultural Village
The Village, also called the “Living Museum,” showcases Sarawak’s diverse cultures with authentic replicas of ethnic houses, including Chinese, Malay, Melanau, Penan, Iban, Bidayuh, and Orang Ulu. Visitors can see demonstrations of traditional arts and crafts and watch cultural performances by various ethnic groups at the Village Theatre.
4. Semenggoh Wildlife Centre
The orangutans are free to roam in this 653-hectare forest reserve, unlike in a zoo. Young and adolescent orangutans are trained here to be self sufficient in the wild. Observe their delicate nests,as well as their deft movements in the treetops and fascinating feeding behaviour. The guide will also explain the behaviour and characteristics of this unique primate known as the orangutan, or”man of the forest”.
5. Crocodile Farm & Mini Zoo
The farm houses over 1,000 saltwater and freshwater crocodiles in enclosures that resemble their natural habitat. Visitors can witness crocodiles in action during feeding time and also see other fascinating animals like bearcats, pythons, peacocks, otters, and the Arapaima Gigas, the world’s largest freshwater fish.
6. Annah Rais Bidayuh Longhouse
Annah Rais, a famous Bidayuh longhouse located 100km east of Kuching, is known for its stunning bamboo architecture. Visitors can witness the daily activities of the villagers, including rice pounding, weaving, and bamboo carving, as well as explore the “Baruk,” a significant structure that once served as a defensive fort. The Baruk houses a sacred war drum and real human skulls.
7. Fairy & Wind Cave

8. Kubah National Park
Kubah National Park, just 20km from Kuching, is a popular day trip spot. Explore the scenic
rainforest, waterfalls, streams, and 93 types of palm trees. The Waterfall trails are a highlight and take you through a mixed forest with planks walkways and wild durian trees. The main waterfall drops 10 metres onto a wide rocky ridge, with a small pool below for a refreshing dip.
9. Gunung Gading National Park
Visit the national park to see the world’s largest flower, Rafflesia, which emits a foul odour to attract insects for pollination. Walk on the plank trail through dense tropical forests and spot wildlife like squirrels and hornbills if you’re lucky. The park is an hour and thirty minutes away by land.
10. Morning Dolphin Spotting Cruise
On this cruise, you can spot the rare Irrawaddy dolphin as it swims and dives around small boats in the Santubong River’s estuary. Keep an eye out, and you might see them surface around the boat. The cruise also includes a visit to a fishing village on stilts along the Salak River.
